Our students regularly go on to join top universities and become community leaders. The values they learn during their martial arts journey are the same you teach at home and last a lifetime.
Social interaction teaches kids how to effectively work as part of a team.
Martial arts helps improve coordination and is an excellent form of exercise.
Building healthy habits early on can help prevent obesity and diabetes later in life.
Belt testing provides an excellent exercise for kids in learning how to set and achieve goals. Their self-esteem will continue to rise with each accomplishment as they watch their hard work pay off.
Complex physical activities such as martial arts have proven to strengthen the brain’s neural networks, helping kids improve their focus and self-control. This can be especially beneficial for kids with ADD/ADHD.
The traditional nature of martial arts teaches kids respect in their classes, whether they are taking a bow or waiting patiently for the next set of instructions. This sense of respect also helps kids improve their grades while improving their listening skills at home and in school.

No. We offer flexible monthly memberships rather than requiring you to commit to a long-term contract. We want families to stay because they enjoy training at Blue Wave Taekwondo, not because they are tied into a lengthy agreement.

Taekwondo does include controlled sparring and self-defence, but we don't teach children to go out and fight. Students learn how to practise safely with partners while developing control, discipline and respect. Sparring is introduced appropriately as students progress and is always supervised by our instructors.
Yes! We believe children learn best when they enjoy what they're doing. Our Taekwondo classes combine learning new skills with challenges, partner activities and games to keep children engaged. They'll build confidence, focus and discipline while having fun and making new friends.
Not at all. Our children's martial arts classes are designed for complete beginners as well as more experienced students. Children can learn at their own pace while gradually improving their fitness, coordination, confidence and Taekwondo skills. Our instructors will help them settle in and feel comfortable from their very first class.
